Bertoli, Simone

Short Bio:

Simone Bertoli holds a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Florence, which he obtained in 2007 with a dissertation on the development impact of migrants’ remittances. After obtaining his PhD, he has been working at the International Training Centre of the ILO, Turin, and he spent one year at the IAB, Institute for Employment Research, Nuremberg, with a Marie Curie fellowship. In 2009, he joined the team, based at the European University Institute, Florence, which edited the first-ever European Report on Development, on Overcoming Fragility in Africa – Forging a New European Approach. He has been teaching development and international economics at the University of Florence, University of Turin, University of Siena and at the New York University, Florence Campus.
