The following consultative activities have been organized in the framework of the preparation of the European Report on Development 2010.

Kick-off meeting organized by the ERD-Secretariat of the European Commission. The meeting discussed the topic and scope of the ERD 2010, agreed on the composition of the research team and on the main steps/timing of the process.
Initial brainstorming meeting of the ERD2010 team organised by the EUI in Florence. The meeting discussed the tentative storyline of the report together with external experts and member states’ representative.

6-7 May 2010
Internal brainstorming meeting organized by the EUI in Florence in parallel to the conference on “Contemporary Approaches to Inequality in the Social Sciences“. During the internal meeting, the ERD team discussed the comments received on the outline Report and made progress on the structure of the final Report due in December.
International conference organized by the EUI in Paris, in cooperation with the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Paris School of Economics. International experts from academia, together with policymakers and civil societies’ representatives, presented their works and discussed on the main issues dealt in the Report.
International conference organised by the EUI in Dakar (Senegal), in cooperation with the Center for Research in Political Economy (CREPOL) and the UNDP regional office of Senegal. International experts from academia, together with policymakers and civil societies’ representatives, presented their work and discussed the main issues dealt in the Report. A poster session “New Faces for African Development”, based on a call for proposals, has been organised during this conference.
Presentation of the European Report on Development (ERD) Zero Draft, organized by the EUI in Florence. The aim of the workshop was to present the draft chapters of the Report. The preliminary results of two original ERD questionnaires, widely disseminated amongst donors and recipients, have been introduced. Ample space has been left to floor discussion to debate the Zero Draft. Particular attention has been given to its practical implications in terms of implementation and donor involvement. A final roundtable has been devoted to the policy implications for EU development policy.
